Our Core Values

As we continue to explore how God wants us to "be the church" in today's world, we are taking a fresh look at our core values. These are the things that we hold to be most important. They  shape our identity, and guide us in making decisions, setting goals, and establishing priorities.

Below is a list of some of the most common values held by people of faith. Our task is to narrow the list down to the few values that are most central to Oxford Second, and we invite you to be part of this process.

Take a look at the list below, and start thinking about which ones are most important to you.  Then join us for worship on Sunday, February 28th. Our theme will be "Discovering Our True Identity," second in our five-part Lenten series, "Through the Wilderness." As part of our worship, we will prayerfully begin to select from the values listed below.

If you're not able to join us for worship, we invite you to:
  1. Listen to Sunday's message, "Discovering Our True Identity" (usually posted Sunday evening).
  2. Then select from the list below the 10 core values that are most important to you. These should be values that you have a passion for, and are willing to live out in your personal life as well as in our church life together.
  3. Number these 10 values in order of importance to you, with "1" being most important, and "10" the least.
  4. Send us your list online, drop it by the church, or mail it to us at:

We appreciate your feedback, and will be posting the results soon!
