As many know, members of Oxford Second Church have long been active supporters of Family Promise (helping homeless families) and DASACC (formerly DAARC, helping victims of domestic abuse). Both of these agencies help families and individuals in crisis to make a safe, fresh start. But these efforts take resources, so we are now happy to be part of the Presbyterian Depot Project, collecting and providing necessary kitchen items as folks move into their new homes. To that end, we are are excited to be hosting a "Welcome to Your New Home" tea party shower on June 4th at 11:30 am, following worship. During this hour, we will provide various flavored hot and iced teas, coffee, tea sandwiches, and delicious desserts. How can you help? Other than bringing your appetite or favorite tea cup, we are hoping to collect new kitchen items for when our families enter their new homes. Suggestions include pots and pans, dishware sets, glassware sets, all size bakeware (i.e. Pyrex casserole dishes, cookie sheets), silverware sets, or monetary donation towards the purchase of these items. Questions? Feel free to contact us. Hope to see you there! |
