He Will Be Missed

George Miller, our oldest living lifetime member, left us to be the Lord this last Monday, December 6.

Born in Oxford on January 1, 1923, he was the son of the late Harry and Mary Tresize Miller. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Margaret Simmons; his son, Kevin G. and wife Rochelle Miller of Belvidere, NJ; his daughter, Debra Miller of Oxford, NJ; his sister, Fannie Baylor of Washington, NJ; three grandchildren, Robert, Kyle and Rayna; and one great-granddaughter, Zoey; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by three brothers, John "Jack", Kenneth, and Robert, and two sisters, Evelyn Maginnis and Margaret Meixel.

George was the owner and operator of George H. Miller Excavator, of Oxford, and an active member of his community. He was a charter member and past president of the Oxford Fire Company; a member of the Oxford Central School Board; 10 year representative of the Warren County Municipal Utilities Authority; and a member of the Hillside Cemetery Association of Oxford.

During his lifetime as a member of the Oxford Second Presbyterian Church, George served his church in a variety of ways, including Superintendent of the Sunday school, and as an elder. He always had a warm smile to share, and a twinkle in his eye. He made all feel welcome and part of the family, and he is already deeply missed.

Visitation will be Friday, December 10, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at DeVoe Funeral Service Inc., 136 West Washington Ave., Washington, NJ. Funeral Services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, December 11, and while publicized as private, the family invites any of George's church family to attend.

Online condolences may be expressed at http://www.devoefuneral.com. The family asks that memorial contributions be donated to the Second Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 58, Oxford, NJ 07863.

We extend our prayers and deepest sympathies to the Miller Family, and to all who loved him.
