On this first Sunday in Lent, we find Jesus, "full of the Holy Spirit... led by the Spirit into the wild. For forty wilderness days and nights he was tested by the Devil." Three times he was tempted and tested, and each time he resisted and responded with God's word from the Scriptures. It is not just Jesus who goes through those wilderness moments. We, too, in our journeys face difficult choices and countless temptations. But like Jesus, we too can endure and withstand it, and come out even stronger.
