One of the gifts of Scripture (and life), is that if we're paying attention, we can learn from the experiences and mistakes of others, and hopefully not repeat them. In his teachings to the Corinthians, Paul reminded them of their ancestors who were led by Moses out of slavery, through parted waters. They witnessed amazing miracles, and their needs were met by God every day. But they still resisted and wanted their own way. They gave into temptations, and with bad results. Paul in his warnings reminds us that the same could happen to us. "We are just as capable of messing it up as they were." But there is hope:
