If God is in our lives and on side, shouldn't everything from then on be good and easy? Shouldn't we have it made? But it doesn't work that way, does it... We still have to deal with the challenges of the world. We still lose people we love, we still deal with illness and bills and unforeseen challenges. The disciples themselves were not spared from adversity. In fact, some of their biggest challenges came AFTER Jesus' resurrection.

But those very challenges can bring us to important turning points in our lives; crossroads where we see God in new ways, and experience His love in ways we can't imagine. And each of those turning points - each time we chose God anew - gives us the means to grow and be shaped by God, to be used for good in the world.
