The Time Has Come

Most of us have heard the story of the nameless woman at the well. A woman who was not only a despised Samaritan, but who had had 5 husbands, and was now living with a man who was not her husband. And though Samaritans and Jews worshipped the same God, they had very different points of view - differences that kept them at odds with each.

So the last thing the woman ever expected, happened. Jesus SPOKE to her. Jesus KNEW her. Jesus treated her with kindness and shared that he was the Messiah. And Jesus gave her hope, and a new vision for how we are to live and worship and treat others:

"...the time is coming—it has, in fact, come—when what you’re called will not matter and where you go to worship will not matter.

“It’s who you are and the way you live that count before God. Your worship must engage your spirit in the pursuit of truth. That’s the kind of people the Father is out looking for: those who are simply and honestly themselves before him in their worship. God is sheer being itself—Spirit. Those who worship him must do it out of their very being, their spirits, their true selves, in adoration.”
