The Power of Persistence: Answering Questions About Prayer

An article was posted recently in the blog of Rev. Dan R. Blick about his surprising discovery about prayer. He was stunned to discover that many -- even those very active in a church -- often have shallow prayer lives because they have never been taught how to pray. He was astonished by the huge response he received about this, including many questions asking HOW to pray. Questions like: Are there rules about how to pray? How will I know if I'm doing it right? How long should my prayers be? Is it ok to pray while I'm doing other things, like driving? Will I annoy God if I don't pray right? How can God hear my prayer if millions of others are praying at the same time?

This week's message is a response to these questions, with an invitation to you to share your own questions going forward. Conversations with God are at the heart of a rich and rewarding spiritual life, and we are committed to helping you know how.

The message for October 17th is now ready for download. Be sure to check back, as we will be adding resources to help you in your prayer life. You may also want to check out "Daily Food for the Soul," a link under Resources to the left.
