Staying on Course

There are times when we can feel overwhelmed, when the challenges we face seem more than we can handle. In those times, it's easy to give up. It's also easy to fall into patterns that go against God's plans for us. It can be easy to judge others, or to fall victim to envy. But Paul offers us good advice in Galations 6:

"Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that. Don’t be impressed with yourself. Don’t compare yourself with others. Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life."

And let's never forget that in those challenging times, God is always with us.

"So let’s not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we don’t give up, or quit. Right now, therefore, every time we get the chance, let us work for the benefit of all..." ("The Message," by Eugene Peterson)
