Jesus and his disciples were walking and talking when they happened upon a blind beggar sitting by the side of the road. They wanted to know who was at fault for the blindness - was it the man or his parents who had sinned and to blame? Wrong question, said Jesus. No one is to blame for this. And he then went on to miraculously heal the beggar and to give him the gift of sight! One would think would this lead to great celebration in the community - happiness for the blind man and his family, that he could at last see, and happiness that the long-promised Messiah had finally arrived, but no such luck. Hear the blind man's mother describe what happened next. |
