Over the last several years, we have been very intentional in looking to God to show us how He wants us to be His church in this time and place. In response, He has led us time again to serve Him through serving our community. This has pushed us repeatedly to step out of the safety of our comfort zone. It has also pushed us to try new things, even when we weren't sure of the outcome, or if we had the necessary resources. We just knew we had to try. And God has never let us down. Whether it's finding ways to help families who have lost their homes; hosting a Thanksgiving Feast with all the community invited (now 3 years running, and growing every year); opening our chapel to neighbors who lost power in Storm Sandy...the list goes on. And every step of the way, God has provided what has been needed, and prepared us for what lies ahead. As we approach Advent - the season of waiting - we do so with joyful anticipation. God keeps His promises, and He continually gives us good reason for hope for the future. |
