Have you ever had something happen in your life that was...unexplainable? Highly unlikely, yet it happened? for want of a better word, a "miracle?" Many of us feel torn. We want to believe that with God, nothing is impossible; that God can do anything. But then fear creeps in. And we begin to question whether God will come through for us. As we look at the story of Mary being visited by an angel, and told that she will give birth to a son who "will be called Holy, Son of God," it's hard to tell which is the greater miracle - the truth of the angel's words, or that Mary believed them and was willing! It also raises some questions: how often do we short-circuit the amazing in our own lives, due to fear and mistrust? And could our doubts arise because we want the impossible according to our will, instead of God's? The message for December 18th is now ready for download. |
