No Excuses!

Since the beginning of time, we human beings have been very adept at making excuses as a means of avoidance. In our minds, they may not even seem like excuses, but just "good reasons" and even "legitimate reasons." And at times that may be true. But when God is calling, there are no good reasons to refuse!

Jeremiah certainly believed that as "only a boy," he was the wrong choice for the big job God had in mind for him. How could he be the one to confront great figures of power? But in the end, he said yes to God, and God provided what was needed for him to do an important job.

God is calling us, too. And though, like Jeremiah, we may feel ill-equipped for the job, we have nothing to fear!

This message was recorded at Oxford Lake at a shared service of worship and picnic with our friends at the Oxford Colonial United Methodist Church and Summerfield United Methodist Church. In the background you will hear the sound of falling rain.

The message for August 22nd is now ready for download.
