We have all probably fantasized at one time or another about "winning the lottery," and being free to do what we want with no worry about money. But how much do we really need to have "enough?" The news out of Iowa today is that the Powerball Jackpot is now up to a staggering $400 Million. It's hard to even imagine an amount so large; what do you even do with a win like that?
The farmer in Jesus' story won his own lottery of sorts. His crops did so amazingly well that he ended up with a huge surplus, way too big for his barn to hold. Solution? Build a much bigger barn, and let the good times begin! Instead, God took him that night, and he benefited not one bit. Where did he go wrong? |
