Let’s Not Forget

We've all heard it, and not just once. Jesus was quite clear --

“Let me give you a new command: Love one another. In the same way I loved you, you love one another. This is how everyone will recognize that you are my disciples—when they see the love you have for each other.”

And yet, even if we call ourselves disciples, we struggle with this. Especially since we are called not just to love those who are good people, but to love our ENEMY. Not just to love others as we love ourselves, but as JESUS loved others. Unconditionally. Sacrificially. No excuses.

Even when we are in pain? Even when we've been hurt or abused or taken advantage of? Yes. Perhaps then most of all. In fact, that's part of how we love ourselves.
