Jeremiah was just a boy when God first spoke to him. Jeremiah thought he knew what his future held; that he'd likely grow up to be a priest like his father. But God had other plans - plans that seemed impossible, and so far out of reach. God had chosen Jeremiah to be a prophet, and Jeremiah's response was one of total disbelief: “Hold it, Master God! Look at me. I don’t know anything. I’m only a boy!” And God told him “Don’t say, ‘I’m only a boy.’ For God knew what WAS possible. God had powerful words for Jeremiah; words that are just as true for us: “Before I shaped you in the womb, I knew all about you. Before you saw the light of day, I had holy plans for you" God's has holy plans for us as well. The plans are different for each of us, but if we're willing to follow the destiny He has planned for us, nothing can get in the way. He takes us as we are, and provides all that is needed. |
