In last week's message, the Psalmist was expressing his people's pain, as they were kicked out of the their homeland and saw everything they knew destroyed. Fast-forward three years. The people are still clinging to the "good old days," and hoping for news that they could return to their home. A letter come from Jeremiah. Could now be that time? But no, this letter tells them to make a life for themselves where they are, and that their futures are tied to this new land. And the kicker? "...seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you
into exile. Pray to the LORD for it, because if it prospers, you too
will prosper." As the world continues to change at a break-neck pace, it can at times feel like we, too, are living in a "foreign place." This challenging message, written so long ago, speaks to our times as well. But how do we live it today? The message for October 10th is now ready for download. |
