In last week's message, the Psalmist was expressing his people's pain, as they were kicked out of the their homeland and saw everything they knew destroyed. Fast-forward three years. The people are still clinging to the "good old days," and hoping for news that they could return to their home. A letter come from Jeremiah. Could now be that time? But no, this letter tells them to make a life for themselves where they are, and that their futures are tied to this new land. And the kicker? "...seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the LORD for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper."

As the world continues to change at a break-neck pace, it can at times feel like we, too, are living in a "foreign place." This challenging message, written so long ago, speaks to our times as well. But how do we live it today?
