This message follows on the heels of the devastating storm, Hurricane Sandy. Last week we were preparing for the worst, and this week we are still reeling from the effects. Many are still without power, and most of us are still trying to wrap
our minds around what has happened and what the long-term affects will
be. Some have lost everything they own, between floods, wind and fires. The Jersey shore has been transformed and changed forever. In NYC, up to 40,000 of the most vulnerable have lost their homes, with nowhere to go. In times of crisis and destruction, it is normal to be filled with questions, as we try to comprehend and understand. In such times, is faith enough to get us through? In Hebrews 11, we are reminded that "faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see." (NIV) We are reminded, too of the many people for faith who have gone before us; who have been challenged, who have suffered, who have endured more than we can imagine - all with their eyes on what God has promised. With the God we follow, faith IS enough. And He will see us through all the storms that blow through our lives. Click here to download the message. |
