How to Stay Cool When You're Feeling Under Fire

Things have changed over the years, but writings of the apostle Peter offer some practical tips that are just as relevant now as they were hundreds of years ago. Try them when you're feeling stressed out, anxious or worried.
  1. Never doubt that God is always with you, even when He seems quiet.
  2. Avoid "Why me" thinking - self-pity and negative thinking only make things worse.
  3. Know that God sometimes allows things to happen for a greater good.
  4. Remember that evil is real, so be alert and discerning.
  5. Be yourself, and true to who God made you to be.
  6. Know that you're not alone, and that we are meant to be part of a community of faith. Sometimes you need the help - sometimes others need you.
  7. Keep your faith strong and at the center of your life.
  8. Know that whatever challenge you're facing won't last forever.
  9. Hand your worry over to God - all of it!
