We know her simply as "the woman at the well." But she was not just a woman. She was a Samaritan woman, and described by some as having a "checkered past." So what was Jesus doing talking to this outcast, and asking for a drink of water? And how was it that she - of all people - would be the first to hear, from Jesus himself, that HE was the Messiah?
