Fear vs. Trust

Three men are intrusted with their master's money. Two take a risk. They invest it, and double the return. The third man buries the money to keep it "secure." The master is pleased with the two men who increased the value of his investment, but he is angry with the man who gave into his fears, and played it safe. His explanation?

"I was afraid I might disappoint you, so I found a good hiding place and secured your money. Here it is, safe and sound down to the last cent.’"

And the master was furious:

“‘That’s a terrible way to live! It’s criminal to live cautiously like that! If you knew I was after the best, why did you do less than the least? The least you could have done would have been to invest the sum with the bankers, where at least I would have gotten a little interest."

Many of us have been raised to believe that it's "better to be safe than sorry." But God calls us to something more.
