But, But, But...

We've heard these passages many times - from Matthew 5:
“You’re familiar with the old written law, ‘Love your friend,’ and its unwritten companion, ‘Hate your enemy.’ I’m challenging that. I’m telling you to love your enemies. Let them bring out the best in you, not the worst."

And from Matthew 7:12:
“Here is a simple, rule-of-thumb guide for behavior: Ask yourself what you want people to do for you, then grab the initiative and do it for them. Add up God’s Law and Prophets and this is what you get.

These passages are never easy, but in turbulent times - when we feel under threat - they can be hard to swallow. And even harder to live out. Can we do it?
