Are We Living What We Say We Believe?

After the resurrection, John, a close friend of Jesus, shares his experience with great enthusiasm:
"We saw it, we heard it, and now we’re telling you so you can experience it along with us, this experience of communion with the Father and his Son, Jesus Christ. Our motive for writing is simply this: We want you to enjoy this, too. Your joy will double our joy!"

It is an amazing time, when the followers come together as a caring community, sharing and caring for each other, and trying to live as Jesus taught them to live. But John also has a warning:
"If we claim that we experience a shared life with him and continue to stumble around in the dark, we’re obviously lying through our teeth—we’re not living what we claim."

It is an important question for each of us to take seriously. Are WE actually living what we say we believe? Or are we still in the dark?
